Nathalie Brown

“Being a parent is not meant easy. No one has ever said being a parent is easy.”

As a mother to a Miss 18 and a Mr 9 I stand by that statement.

There has never been so much information and advice on child behaviour and parenting. The ‘you must do this’ and the ‘you should never do this’. An increasing number of diagnosis for children and their behaviour and we even have labels for our parenting styles and argue about which parenting style is the best.

Easy Peasy Kids was established in December 2010, I wanted to help parents and children form closer, more open relationships through improved communication, a deeper understanding of child development and advocating lots of play and teaching emotional intelligence.

What is a good parent?

I believe that good parenting is about giving your child the necessary skills to grow up into compassionate and empathic adults.

Child Behaviour

Twenty years of working with children has shown me that childhood behavioural issues can be improved by understanding the child in question. Looking  at the bigger picture to why they misbehave . Once the reasons are found, we can improve the situation.  Children seldom misbehave with malice and intent; in my experience every single child I have worked with have had underlying factors that have caused their so called mis-behaviour or naughtiness.  These factors may have nothing to do with how you parent, but  many external and at times medical factors.

My approach

I focus on two core areas that encompass Emotional Intelligence. These are:

Communication: Helping your child to communicate their feelings effectively and helping parents develop essential skills such as patience, openness, and the ability to not ‘sweat the small stuff’ and looking at the bigger picture.

Play: Using play to help your child express themselves, learn and develop a better understanding of the world. Whether it’s messy water games, enthusiastic dancing or just jumping in muddy puddles, play improves children’s emotional and physical development.

We’ll work together to provide your child with simple consistent principles and help you discover practical parenting solutions to any behavioural issue.

My skills

Studying and research has given me the foundations in learning about behaviour. My skills have come from over twenty years of working with children, they have taught me more than all the books. In schools they believe I’m their teacher, when in fact they are really mine.
