Teenage Poem “Friends”

Friends

Like a warm blanket on a cold day

A flash of light, in a pitch black sky

A comforter, a friend.

A stake holding up a sapling

The foundation of a house

A supporter, a friend.

A secret keeper

A diary

A listener, a friend.

Like a manual to a machine

A directory to a city.

An advisor, a friend.

An ice-pack to a bruise

Water and sun to a growing flower

A helper, a friend.

Like a smile on a bad day

Laughter during sad times

A comedian, a friend.

There for you when you need them most.

A friend, my friends.

friends

  1. I love this.

I remember so clearly my best friends being my whole world.

I still love them dearly and we try to catch up as much as we can, but my children and husband are the centre of my universe now.

Enjoy your special friendships before life gets in the way!

  2. great poem. it shows everything that a true friend can and should be. wish I could express myself like that when I was a teenager. :-)

  3. Georgeous poem. I truly value my friends and hope they know how much they mean to me. You don’t need many but you need quality.
